About us
SpotAirPods is an independent Apple earphones serial number lookup tool and is not affiliated with Apple Inc.
Why did we build this website?
Cumulative global shipments of Apple AirPods and Beats wireless earphones have exceeded 500 million units and continue to grow by approximately 80 million units each year. The installed base of EarPods is estimated to have surpassed 1 billion units.
At the same time, counterfeit earphones are widespread in the market. In some years, tens of millions or even as many as 100 million counterfeit units are estimated to have circulated. In certain unofficial sales channels, counterfeits may outnumber genuine products.
Counterfeit products now look and feel increasingly convincing, and many copy real serial numbers to pass themselves off as genuine. It is difficult for ordinary users to identify them accurately based only on appearance or a basic check on an official website.
We hope the lookup data collected by this site can help users assess whether earphones are genuine, reduce the risk of buying counterfeits, and especially avoid paying genuine-product prices for fake goods.
Counterfeiters have access to only a limited pool of genuine serial numbers, so the same serial number may be printed on large quantities of fake products. When a serial number is queried unusually often on this site, the system issues a risk warning. The more users participate in lookups, the more useful the database becomes as a reference for assessing risk.
